Adventure World: Asian Gulf

 

    Imagine a world of majesty, wonder, and mystery high up above or far down below. Well, this is that place in the majestic land of China. This place takes inspiration from old Chinese mythology, including the famous Mulan legend.

    Across a bridge that connects Adventure Outpost with this area is where this land begins. Sea of Clouds Store offers Chinese jewelry and glassware. Kahn's Mongolian is a Mongolian restaurant similar to a Hu Hot restaurant. There is a theater nearby where Mulan: A Tale of Many, a stage show based on the animated classic, is performed. Lantern House is another gift shop. Imperial Army Training Camp is an exploration attraction based off of the camp from the film.

    Yellow River Rapids is the highlight of this sub-area, where you float down the rivers of China and venture into ancient Chinese fortresses, dark caves of treasure, and even a dragon's den. River Traders gives you merchandise. You enter this shop after going on the ride. The sign-ups for Wilderness Explorers is also near this shop.


       There is a courtyard resembling the forbidden city where Acrobats perform. In this courtyard are the shops Mushu's Dragon Store and Honor to Us All Boutique and the restaurants Wandering Moon Teahouse and Green Dragon Inn. Up in a palace is where you can ride Mulan's Journey, a ride based off of the film where you travel on carriages and go through the story. The Adventure World Streamer Line stops her to make its journey back to World Bay.

    Finally, outside the courtyard and connecting back to World Bay is a mountainous region. This is where you can see Adventure World's icon, Kunlun, the towering mountain. There is a roller coaster inside it called Kunlun Quest: Legend of the Great Beast, where you ride on sleds through the mountain searching for treasure and encounter the Abominable Snowman along the way. Kunlun Curiosities sells merchandise themed to the ride afterwards.

    Asian Gulf, originally China, came to me in a dream. Kunlun Quest was actually the first ride I saw when I was 11 and had this dream. I must've seen all of Adventure World, because Tower of Terror was over there too, but Kunlun was gigantic and towered above everything else. After the ride, you could actually go to a pavilion and take a picture of the yeti itself. I changed it to a mammoth in the book, and then back to a yeti. I also originally called Yellow River Rapids Shi Gouli's Rapids, but I changed the name since it made no sense. This one was a little hard to make since Mulan was the only film set in the area that I could use, and there are only two movies of those that I can relate, the original 1998 film and its 2020 live-action remake (which is more of its own film in my opinion.) However, if the upcoming Raya and the Last Dragon ends up being a hit, then maybe some of that will be applied to this area since it too is set in a Chinese world.

    I love the idea of the raft ride and the storyline around it. So fun! I think a beautiful Chinese garden would fit nicely into this area as well. And the acrobats is a genius idea! Those are so fun to watch! I’d be interested to see Raya and see how that might be incorporated too.

    Hello, commenters. It's Mason G> Marker here to announce that an area based on Kumandra, the Southeast Asian-inspired world from Raya and the Last Dragon, will be added to this part of the park. It is located south of Kunlun and features two attractions. Raya and the Flight of the Dragons is a motion simulator where you virtually ride on the back of the dragons and go with Raya and Sisu on an adventure through the lands of Kumandra. Secret of the Underwater Passages is a boat ride similar to Shanghai's Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, where you voyage under the waterways of Talon while looking for a lost artifact with Raya and her group. Both of these attractions would be on a scale Disney had never done before. Restaurants in this area would include Boun's Shrimporium, Kumandra Kitchen, Dragon Bites, and Talon Treats. Shops include Dragon Gem Gifts, Treasures of Kumandra, Du Blai's (the chief of Talon) Traders, and Ongi Plunder Shop (Ongis are the monkey creatures that work with Noi the Con-Baby.) On a stage is the Kumandra Spirit Rally, where you can experience performers representing all five lands of Kumandra: Heart (Raya's land), Fang (Namaari's land), Tail (Boun's land), Talon (Noi's land), and Spine (Tong's land.)

Neo World: Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

       Get ready to travel to a Galaxy Far, Far Away on Batuu, a remote spire planet where a secret struggle between the Resistance and the First Order rages. You will enter Black Spire Outpost, a Hyperspace terminal turned scoundrel den, and be immersed in the Galaxy. Here, you shall fight alongside the Resistance and fly the Millennium Falcon, the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.     You enter the area through a small bridge behind the Universe Pavilion in Future City, walking through a tunnel and transporting yourself to Batuu. Adventure World: Adventure Outpost

      Something strange blows here in the desert winds. Here in this 1930s Egyptian expedition site, some strange things are tied to the ancient ruins. Here, you can follow in the footsteps of Indiana Jones and try to figure out what is behind all of this peculiar activity happening in this otherwise normal explorer outpost.     You first walk into the outpost, which consists of old Egyptian buildings dating back to the 1930s. Sallah's Oasis offers food for hungry explorers while Treasures of Egypt sells Egyptian merchandise. Around this marketplace is also where you can sign up for Wilderness Explorers and you can even sign up for a new area-wide experience called Explorations of the Lost Desert Ruins, where you use a bunch of clues to find lost treasure, going on the rides and looking in some of the shops and restaurants to do so.
