Magic World: Fantasyland

 


    Come to this magical world where classic Disney stories come to life. Only here can you live through your favorite fairy tales, stumble into a nonsensical realm, and fly on the back of a flying elephant. It's all here in Fantasyland, the land where magic comes to life.

    The Enchanted Fairytale Castle is the largest Disney castle, and it houses so many activities. You can explore the castle and meet Disney Princesses inside, become a princess at Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique, dine with royalty in the Fairytale Castle Dining Hall, or engage in two magical attractions. Mickey's Philharmagic is a 3-D show themed to Disney music and Donald's attempt to regain the sorcerer's hat in the process, and the show exits out into a gift shop outside the castle, Fantasy Faire. The entrance to Dream Voyage is also in the castle. Dream Voyage is a mostly-outdoor boat ride where you go past colorful, animated sculptures based off of Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Mulan, Hercules, and The Sorcerer's Apprentice before going into a magic cave where the magic comes alive. This is similar to Voyage to the Crystal Grotto at Shanghai Disneyland.

    Outside the castle is a courtyard resembling a Bavarian village, accessible through the castle or the two pathways around it. Here, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Merlin's Carousel are there to entertain young guests. On the left side of this area is Peter Pan's Flight, an extended version of Shanghai's version of the ride. On the right side is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which is a modified version of the Magic Kingdom's ride. Pooh Corner offers Pooh-themed souvenirs and treats while Merlin's Cupboard gives away snacks. Nearby, you can see Dream Voyage. On the right side is a path to Adventureland and up more towards the other side of Dream Voyage while on the left side is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, a longer and bigger version of Magic Kingdom's attraction which borders Frontierland. Mountainside Treasures is a gift shop near the ride.


Going forward past Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is where Frozen Ever After is, which is an extended version of the Epcot ride, now with locations, music, and characters from Frozen II along with a different ending than the Epcot ride, which sees you going out to the fjord and seeing the sisters on a boat. The ride exits into Wandering Oakens, a gift shop inspired by the one in the film. Further ahead is "It's a Small World." To the left of that is an Alice in Wonderland-themed area. Mad Hatter's Tea Cups is what you first come across, and not far is the restaurant Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall and the shop White Rabbit Store. The major attraction in the sub-area is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, a trackless ride similar to Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland, where you scurry through Wonderland on the way to the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, going past such places as the Rabbit Hole, the Caterpillar's Marsh, the Singing Forest, and the Queen of Hearts' castle. To the right is Village Haus and the Fantasyland station for the Magic World Railroad, which will depart to Frontierland.

Further to the right of "It's a Small World" is a Beauty and the Beast-themed area recreating the village from the film. Gaston's Tavern is a sit-down restaurant set inside the village tavern and Maurice's Village Traders is a shop inside Belle's cottage. Nearby the village is a recreation of the Beast's castle, where Beauty and the Beast-a Tale as Old as Time is showcased. This is where you ride on a teacup and go through the story of the film. "Be Our Guest" Restaurant is also nearby, which is set in Beast's ballroom and features character encounters with Belle and the Beast.

    Fantasyland took a bit of development. Dream Voyage was some idea I had for a long time. I split the area into sub-areas, but I felt like that wasn't working so much, so I let it go. Interestingly, I was going to have this fast-paced, longer, larger version of Matterhorn Bobsleds subtitled Freezing Frenzy, but I decided not to include that in the last minute. I also decided to add in the Beauty and the Beast area because I felt like I needed something to replace that Alpine area. Peter Pan's Flight wasn't originally there at all. In Neo World, half of the park would be Peter Pan-themed and that is where it would be. However, I saw that it wasn't a good idea, so I changed it and brought Peter Pan to this park, and I'm glad I did. I am finally satisfied with my Fantasyland layout.

    I like this! I could picture Dream Voyage being a star attraction for a family ride, especially popular with young children who love the princesses. Would small world be the same or different from the other parks? Are they all a little different or exact replicas of each other? Also, I hope you don’t scrap the Freezing Frenzy idea altogether. That sounds fun, and I wouldn’t mind seeing it in another park somewhere.

      All of the Small Worlds are different. This one, however, features representation from every country in the world. Also, it features flags of all of the major countries represented in the ride at the very end.

Neo World: Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

       Get ready to travel to a Galaxy Far, Far Away on Batuu, a remote spire planet where a secret struggle between the Resistance and the First Order rages. You will enter Black Spire Outpost, a Hyperspace terminal turned scoundrel den, and be immersed in the Galaxy. Here, you shall fight alongside the Resistance and fly the Millennium Falcon, the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.     You enter the area through a small bridge behind the Universe Pavilion in Future City, walking through a tunnel and transporting yourself to Batuu. Adventure World: Adventure Outpost

      Something strange blows here in the desert winds. Here in this 1930s Egyptian expedition site, some strange things are tied to the ancient ruins. Here, you can follow in the footsteps of Indiana Jones and try to figure out what is behind all of this peculiar activity happening in this otherwise normal explorer outpost.     You first walk into the outpost, which consists of old Egyptian buildings dating back to the 1930s. Sallah's Oasis offers food for hungry explorers while Treasures of Egypt sells Egyptian merchandise. Around this marketplace is also where you can sign up for Wilderness Explorers and you can even sign up for a new area-wide experience called Explorations of the Lost Desert Ruins, where you use a bunch of clues to find lost treasure, going on the rides and looking in some of the shops and restaurants to do so.
